The animation and narration was stunning and the film overall is a well timed comment on consumerism and the destruction of the earth at the hands of humans<\/em>.&#8217; <strong>Paul Stringer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018a highly engaging, brilliant performance, unlike anything I\u2019ve seen before\u2019<\/em> <strong>Victoria Robb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>Powerful, thought-provoking, soul-stirring \u2026I wanted to see it again immediately.<\/em>\u2019<strong> Suzie Purkis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.9;\"><strong>O<\/strong>riginally commissioned by mac Birmingham and Apples &amp; Snakes for a scratch performance night, the narrative poem, Eden Reborn, is an eco-feminist, reimagining of the Myth of Eden in response to Ted Hughes\u2019 Theology. Described as a cannibalistic sex metaphor and likened to the work of Angela Carter, the poem takes a dark look at the role of women through time and the effects of colonialist and capitalist behaviours on people and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Since its original showing in 2013, the poem has been reworked by writer, Elisabeth Charis, in close collaboration with editors, Inua Ellams and Hannah Silva; acclaimed animator, Emma Reading; award winning musician\/composer, Steve Tromans; renowned percussionist, Mark Robertson, and sound artist, Soesen Eden.
